1、 Principles of Intelligent Transportation Systems 

Intelligent traffic electronic police is a systematic project that integrates traffic management, command and dispatch, information collection, data sharing, and platform exchange. It includes 12 functions such as comprehensive command system, network communication system, geographic information system, traffic signal control system, video surveillance system, police car positioning system, and electronic police automatic shooting system. It is an electronic instrument system developed using advanced image processing technology, new generation information transmission technology, integrated control technology, and intelligent management technology. It is installed at urban traffic intersections or mobile police cars, and takes photos of motor vehicles that violate red lights 24 hours a day.

The entire system consists of five units: detection unit, image capture unit, camera unit, and license plate automatic recognition unit 

3、 Intelligent transportation system functions 

Speed measurement function: The system can accurately detect and record the driving speed of passing motor vehicles every day. When there is a speeding vehicle, the system automatically alarms and records photos along with speed data in the violation database. 

Vehicle detection records: Monitor and record the model, color, and license plate of every passing motor vehicle 24 hours a day, and automatically recognize the license plate number. The database is automatically refreshed and recorded in a loop. 

Traffic flow detection and statistics: Provide accurate hourly traffic flow statistics data, which can provide traffic management departments with straight-line traffic flow reports. 

Blacklist vehicle inspection: The system automatically recognizes the license plate of each close-up photo of the vehicle and quickly compares the recognition result with the blacklist license plate. If there is a similarity, the system immediately alarms and displays the license plate number and blacklist license plate type. 

Remote communication and management function: With remote communication lines, front-end devices can be controlled on the computer in the monitoring center, and the blacklist database can be updated at any time. The image data and traffic flow data in the front-end database can also be transmitted back to the monitoring center.
